This one is of my favorite projects ever! It’s a visual and musical tribute to John William’s Jaws Theme produced by the talented Tony DeSare. We shot this in his studio in Peekskill, New York. The idea came up when his wife got a gold fish for their son as a pet and we figured it could be the main character of this short story. My direction focus on the POV of the fish listening to the terrifying cords of the score as well as honoring the film.
This shot was a replica of the famous shot of the 1975 film where you dolly in but zoom out at the same time.
We utilized animated graphics projected into the piano keys
I tried to make the viewer feel under dark waters and feel every note played in the piano.
